Carrotmob 2.0 Tomorrow!

by johnb on March 11, 2010

Well it is finally here!
Carrotmob 2.0 Victoria is just around the bend and is picking up some serious press along the way.  Josh will be on CBC Radio in the morning tomorrow to discuss the day’s events and carrotmob in general.  The Martlet has graciously put us front cover with an intense action shot, and Monday Magazine has us on their home page, story number 1!

I’m pleased to say that our Facebook group has grown rapidly in the last few days and both Carrotmob -Victoria group and Carrotmob – Wannawafel event have some exciting numbers behind them.

In Saanich??
Well, be at the UVic bus loop to catch the 3:20pm bus to the Parliament buildings with some of the mob.  The mob will leave from the Parliament Building steps and head to Wannawafel at 4:15pm.
I will be hanging out at the Parliament at 4, so if you live in town, come drop by!

Hope everyone can make it out to support the idea that business really can be sustainable!

Wannawafel is located at 560 Johnson St. at the entrance to Market Square.

Things are coming together fast! We have recently received a bunch of fully biodegradable sisal sacs from Level Ground Coffee which are left over from their deliveries.  Our plan is to use as many of these sacs as possible and turn them into costumes and paper alternatives.  It’s new for us too!

Mobbing Hits March 12th!

by johnb on February 22, 2010

All Mobbers!

After talking with the crew down at Wannawafel we have decided on a date to Mob. March 12th.  We are looking for as many people to come out as Victoria has to offer. Wannawafel has put forward 100% of the days revenue to make their business more environmentally efficient, and this means WE MUST ALL EAT!

There are two types of waffles and plenty of variations of toppings.  And of course if you are not a waffle person, come out for a juice, pop or coffee and give that days beverage purchase to a company that wants to be completely self sustainable.

This is the chance to have a tangible impact on changing how businesses operate.  There are NO third party payments, NO secondary donations, NOthing except for direct support of Wannawafel to make changes they need to make to become GREEN!!

The Winner…Wannawafel!!!

by johnb on February 16, 2010

Well that was fast paced and very eventful!
Carrot Mob 2.0 is well underway and now with a clear winner with over 66% of the votes cast this weekend.  Thank you everyone who voted and thank you everyone that will be coming out to the event!!

We are getting the specifics organized as I write and after talking with Renaat atwannwafel-logo Wannawafel, I can tell this is going to be huge! There will be prizes, music, entertainment, and some very tasty eco-friendly (getting friendlier) waffles.

A big thank you for all the businesses that took a shot at trying to get mobbed.  Without Mo:Lé or The Joint, it would not have gotten to the point it got to this weekend.

Please stay tuned as we update the blog with news about the event and stay on track with our Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Get your mobbin’ faces on!
